Background of The Hub
Managing Director Jonny Hiles on how The Hub came about:
"I started my recruitment career as an IT Recruitment specialist with a leading IT recruiter enjoying the market boom pre-Y2K.
I then moved into a lead role within a Recruitment Process Outsourcer (RPO) before providing resourcing consultancy to corporate clients.
My decision to go out on my own was not an easy one but seemed logical. I had a number of strong relationships and felt that I had gone as far as I could as an employee. The company I set up had two services, consultancy, and multi discplined recruitment.
Working on your own takes discipline, determination and drive and I quickly found that I was able to generate vacancies, but as a start up with little capital, attracting candidates was tricky and expensive. Advertising costs c£200 per advert with no guarantee of results and access to online candidate databases was also expensive. The free job boards would only provide limited applications. I realised that the less I was able to deliver, the fewer opportunities I could secure in the future.
The Hub is the result of an idea I had that would bridge the gap between independents and recruitment plc’s. It is for independent recruitment businesses that would like to utilise the significant delivery capability and resources of a £120m recruitment plc to support their business.
